This 96th festival whose theme was “Talent Development For Growth of the Creative Economy attracted the participation of more than 130,000 students featuring institutions right from lower primary to teachers training colleges and universities. In the tightly contested class 2042K English Choral verse, Pumwani Boys High School from Nairobi emerged the winners with 92 points followed by Precious Blood Riruta with 90 points..
TUDOR DAY IT IS… Tudor Day Secondary School from Mvita sub – county in Mombasa County are this years’ Kenya Music Festival Champions of Kiswahili Ngonjera class 2142K sponsored by SEPU. The school which has an enrollment of over 788 learners emerged the winners of this tightly contested category that was female dominated capitalizing on their good flair of the dialect beating the rest of their competitors. The school Principal Mr. Kioko Muthengi attributed their win to hard work, dedication and sticking to the script theme ” Nurturing Innovation and Competencies Towards Economic Opportunities in Science and Technology”. This year School Equipment Production Unit partnered with Kenya Music Festival sponsoring two categories, English Choral verse class 2042 K and Kiswahili Ngonjera class 2042K nurturing talent, fostering creativity, innovation and excellence. In the broader context, the growth of creative economy is instrumental in driving socio – Economic development, promoting cultural diversity and fostering national unity. The platform also inspires learners to take Science and Technology related courses.
